Boost European Performance with the Injen EIS Intake Extension
If you have a performance vehicle, you have probably already learned quite a bit about performance modifications. There are a lot of modifications that can be made that will undoubtedly boost horsepower, from turbochargers to replacing electronic control modules. Many of these options, while effective, can be incredibly expensive to implement.
An often-overlooked performance enhancer is the air intake system. All cars have to draw air in from somewhere around the engine compartment. Most cars pull in air from directly above the engine. This air is hot, not very dense, and usually very turbulent. All of these factors inhibit combustion, robbing your engine of performance. There are several cold air intake systems available on the market that reroute the air flow by first drawing in cold air from just behind the car's front bumper. This air has not had a chance to be heated by the engine. The air flows through a tube to the intake. The tube minimizes heating, smoothes out turbulence in the air, and delivers a high volume of cold, dense, smooth flowing air to the engine.
Sounds great, doesn't it? As you look through parts catalogues, you'll find many air intake systems for Japanese cars, which tend to be the most popular tuners. You will find some for American cars too. However, what if you have a high performance European car? Can you take advantage of this technology?
With the Injen EIS Intake Extension, you can indeed. The EIS extension mounts onto your existing air intake, extending its reach to the front bumper, where the air is coldest and most dense. Injen's cold air intake extensions come in polished metal or black powder coat finishes, so they can be a showpiece or stealthy modification. Injen EIS extensions are California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved, too.
