The Injen IS short ram air intake features TIG welded aluminum vacuum ports, stainless steel clamps, and Injen's Purosil silicone hose. Each Injen air intake system comes with a replaceable Injen performance urethane air filter.

Injen pioneers in Toyota Celica short ram air intake systems. Each short ram air intake system is built from 6061, T-6 aluminum alloy to ensure the lightest design possible and uses CNC mandrel bent to engineered specs for maximum performance. Injen has the first manufactured short ram air intake system to tag-weld a CNC-machined bracket onto the car intake's extension to prevent moving and vibration.
Throughout its life span this model has been powered by various four cylinder engines. The most significant change occurred in 1986, when the car's drive layout was changed from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive. During the first three generations, American market models were powered by various versions of Toyota's R series engines. A four-wheel drive turbocharged model (designated All-trac in the US or GT-Four in Japan and Europe) was produced from 1986 to 2000. Variable Valve Timing came in late 1997 Japanese models, and became standard in all models from 2000 on. Through seven generations, the model has gone through many revisions and design forks, including the Supra model. The model was available as notchback and liftback coupes, as well as a convertible.
